More than 500 clients entered this edition from all over the world: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, UK, Greece, Hong Kong, Italia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Holland, Peru, Portugal, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, US, Switzerland, Tanzania. A wide range of architecture worldwide in different sizes, from big infrastructure to public buildings, companies' head offices, exhibition spaces for culture, places for living, restoration works, etc.
During the selection of the winning works special attention was given to those projects that embraced in their design the challenges of innovation, efficiency of the building processes, social and cultural awareness, environmental respect, use of sustainable resources and natural light, Design for All.
The "Dedalo Minosse 2003-2004" awarding ceremony took place on Friday 14 May at 5 p.m. in the charming frame of the Olympic Theatre; besides the winners, many important figures from Culture's and International Architecture's panorama: ambassador Umberto Vattani, monsignor Mauro Parmeggiani, Tan Sri Dato, Jamilius Bin Hussein, Laurie e Frederick Samitaur Smith, Kisho Kurokawa, Hans Hollein, Piero Sartogo, Micha de Haas, Vincenzo Latina. The ceremony was followed by the official opening of the successful exhibition, which, in the first two days, was attended by almost three thousand people.
The "top designers" of world architecture along with the most promising architects of the new and very new generation will compete in the various sections of the award, to prove the prestige of an Italian Award that, as sometimes happens, is better known abroad than in Italy. International interest in the "Dedalo Minosse" is confirmed by the presence for the opening in Vicenza of delegations from the most important international associations of architects, including the American Institute of Architects, and the fact that, as was the case in the previous edition, the winning works will be exhibited throughout the world.
